President Adama Barrow and President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal wrapped up their meeting at the State House in Banjul on Saturday, opting not to hold a press briefing or release an official statement.
President Faye was visiting The Gambia for one day on a work trip.
Media personnel were informed beforehand by Deputy Director of Press Babucarr Sankanu that the meeting would not be broadcasted live and no questions would be allowed. However, it was mentioned that both leaders would make brief remarks to the press after their discussions.
Contrary to expectations, neither president made any statements to the press as they left the meeting. President Faye then proceeded to the Coco Ocean Resort, where he will rest before heading back to Dakar later in the evening.
