The Office of the Inspector General of Police has observed with great concern, that domestic animals such as sheep, goats, donkeys, and cattle indiscriminately roam in public places and on public highways.
The general public particularly owners of these livestock and cattle are hereby strictly urged to restrain and control their animals.
The public is further informed that the IGP’s Office in collaboration with The Gambia Livestock Marketing Agency and Cattle Farmers Association will commence an operation to ensure there are no stray animals within Greater Banjul Area particularly at public places.
Stray animals found roaming around public places will be captured and restrained at an identified location.
Consequently, for owners to regain their animals, penalties will be awarded in accordance with the law.
The cooperation and understanding of the general public are highly solicited.
