An urgent press release issued by the Falcons football club, the Gambia, stated that the team’s bus was involved in an accident with players onboard while on their way to a training grounds this morning.
“Falcons football club regret to announce this unpleasant news of the team bus incident which occurred this morning. Our team is leading the Gambia first division table with two points and three games to go, the team was this morning going to have a refreshing training session at the beach with some staff and a logistics manager.”
The bus according to the press release was knocked by a truck at the Abusey junction in Abuko thereby cursing damage to the bus and a minor injury to the driver only.
” Thank God that other than the driver no one is injured as of now. As a team, we extend this news to the GFF, our fans, and our well-wishers and urge all to stay away from spreading hyperbolic (false) stories about the incident. We wish the driver a speedy recovery. More info to follow”
