According to a press release, The Chief of Defence Staff, Gambia Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yakuba A Drammeh has decided to proceed on statutory retirement after reaching the age of 60 years.
The army statement indicated that he has served the GAF for almost 40 years and will be replaced by his deputy, Major General Mamat O Cham.
