” Whether these threats are naturally occurring, deliberate or accidentally, our resolve to protect our communities and ensure their wellbeing needs a standard”
With support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and partners, we are currently conducting a 5-day IHR Joint External Evaluation. This comprehensive and systematic assessment is designed to measure our country’s health systems and infrastructure against the benchmarks established by the World Health Organization.
Over the next five days, a team of experts from WHO will engage a diverse range of stakeholders, including our technical experts, health officials, and representatives from partner organizations to evaluate our current capabilities across various domains, such as disease surveillance, laboratory systems, emergency response mechanisms, and risk communications.
The insights and recommendations generated from this evaluation will serve as a vital roadmap for future initiatives aimed at enhancing public health security in the Gambia.
