
With the Government steadfast on equitable development across the country, particularly in agriculture, many communities that were once deprived have been receiving constant support by the Barrow Administration.
By continuing this ongoing effort, The Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President Mr. Alieu Loum, under the Program for Accelerated Community Development (PACD) has today handed over two (2) tractors to Madina Angalleh in Kiang Central and Jalangbereh in Jarra Central in the Lower River Region (LRR). The support is part of the ongoing efforts of His Excellency President Adama Barrow to mechanize agriculture in the country.
In his handing over statement, Mr. Loum urged beneficiary communities to work in unison for sustainability by ensuring the transparent utilisation of the proceeds of the tractors.
Mr. Loum advised the gathering to safeguard the peace and stability that the country is blessed with. He stressed that without peace and stability, there can be no meaningful development and prosperity.
He expressed appreciation to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for the implementation.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor of LLR Seedy Lamin Bah, said that the government has fulfilled every commitment made to the farmers, adding that more is on the pipeline.
The National Assembly Member for Kiang Central, Chiefs of beneficiary districts, and residents acknowledged the support of the Government. They lauded the development efforts specifically projects that have positively impacted the livelihood of communities such as electricity expansion, access roads, water supply and health facilities.
