The West African Health Organisation (WAHO) is organising, from 6 to 8 October 2025 in Accra (Ghana), the *Technical Committee and Steering Committee meetings of the ECOWAS Pharmaceutical Industry Development Project* .
These meetings serve as a platform to:
* Present the project to all key actors involved in its implementation
* Review progress made since inception
* Validate the next steps to build a robust regional manufacturing ecosystem
* Strengthen dialogue among stakeholders to boost pharmaceutical production capacity
* Promote synergies between regional partners
With financial support from the *African Development Bank (AfDB)* , technical assistance from *UNIDO* , and the engagement of the *West African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (WAPMA)* , this *ECOWAS* -led initiative is implemented by *WAHO* . Its ambition is to reduce dependence on imports and improve access to quality medicines across the region.
