The Office of the President hereby informs the public that The Gambia will hosts the 12th edition of the Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary Conference 2025, under the patronage of Her Excellency the First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, from 14th to 15th October 2025 at Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre.
First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow will receive her counterparts from seven (7) African countries as Guests of Honour and keynote speakers, namely:
• H. E. Maria de Fatima Afonso Vila Nova, The First Lady of São Tomé and Príncipe
• H. E. Kartumu Yarta Boakai, The First Lady of the Republic of Liberia
• H. E. Marie Khone Faye, The First Lady of Senegal
• H. E. Angeline Ndayubaha, The First Lady of the Republic of Burundi
• H. E. Brigitte Touadera Nee Belema, The First Lady of Central African Republic
• H. E. Senator Oluremi Tinubu, The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
The summit aims to address social and health challenges to improve healthcare access and support women’s empowerment.
