The Nioro Jattaba Community celebrates Mamie Sey for her successful participation in the WAFU Zone A Women’s Championship held recently in Sal, Cape Verde.
Mamie received her first call to duty with the Women’s Senior National Football team that won the bronze medal in the second edition of the WAFU Zone A Senior Women’s tournament between the 21st and 29th of January 2023.
The young footballer currently playing for The Gambia Police Force (Police) female team made her debut in the midfield of the National Scorpions thanks to her amazing energy and ball control skills.
She is profiled as talented in ball controlling, dribbling, and accurate passes, earning her admiration within the football circle.
Born and brought up in Nioro Jattaba village in Kiang West, Lower River Region (LRR), Mamie paved her football career from childhood, working very hard from one village field to another. She occasionally represented her high school in Nioro in sports events in the region before she could find the avenue to build on her pace in the Greater Banjul Area.
