Ms. Angie M. Gates, President and Chief Executive Officer of Event DC, expressed her happiness at welcoming Embassy representatives to the Embassy Breakfast. She expressed her happiness at the inclusion of the Cultural Tourism DC team in the DC Event family. She said that this shows diversity and inclusivity.
Ms. Gates stated that the upcoming event would be an excellent opportunity to demonstrate Washington, DC’s singularity and the cultural assets that each nation would bring to the table in Washington, DC. She said that this includes culture, the arts, food, and music. She stated that the participating embassies have been exempt from paying the annual participation fee.
It should be noted that The Gambia participated for the first time in Passport DC last year, which marked the 15th anniversary of the annual event.
