The Banjul City Council has issued a public notice regarding the interception of individuals who were found modifying expired mayonnaise from the dump site to create cooking oil.
“This came on short notice to the council that people were taking the expired mayonnaise from the dump site to recycle them into gallons of cooking oil for sale.
Two people were caught and are under police custody.
As a result, the council urges everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity as this can have health implications after consumption.’
