Modou Ibrahim Cham, alias MC Cham Junior, the nominated Councillor representing Businesses and Tailoring in the Kanifing Municipality, concluded a tour of selected markets .The two-day tour, spanning July 15th and 17th, saw him and his entourage visit the Bakoteh Fish Market, Latrikunda Sabiji Market, and Serekunda Market.
During the tour, Councillor Cham discussed the D300 million Kanifing Municipal Road Network Project (KMRNP), which is solely funded by taxpayers’ money. He emphasized the importance of businesses to the Council and reiterated their commitment to creating an enabling environment for vendors to thrive.
In his interactions with vendors, Councillor Cham highlighted ongoing developments in the markets and shared future plans for expansion to accommodate more vendors. He encouraged vendors to pay their taxes to ensure the continuation of development projects.
Councillor Cham was accompanied by Women Representative Councillor Matty Kanyi, Market Managers Sainabou Faal and Modou Njie, as well as Councillors Ousman Darboe, Baba Jabbi, Lamin Jammeh, Fatou Joko Njie, and Fatoumatta Jammeh from the Office of the Clerk.
