Today we are celebrating these amazing members of the Women Journalists Association of The Gambia. Nyima Sillah News Editor at The Voice Newspaper and Isatou Ceesay senior news reporter and Women affairs columnist at The Point Newspaper have won an international media award from the globally renowned Merck Foundation.
Isatou Ceesay was awarded third place under the Merck Foundation “More than a mother “ media recognition in the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) reporting category. While Nyima Sillah secured second place in the online category on GBV reporting category of the same “More Than a Mother” initiative.
WoJAG President Annette Camara has applauded the young ladies for the effort in upholding standards in news reporting and is encouraging more female reporters to venture into in-depth news coverage to earn similar recognitions.
Both Isatou and Nyima are two brilliant Award winning Gambian Journalists who have over the years left an incredible legacy in the Gambian Media space worth emulating.
