According to a despatch from the Gambia Football Federation, the information alleging that
schools have received their prize monies for participating in their regional zone qualifiers for the Pan African school football championship, whereas Scan Aid is yet to be paid by the GFF is fake news.
” The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has taken note of a story by one Ebrima KB Sonko posted on social media today. In the said story, the reporter alleged that schools have received their prize monies for participating in their regional zone qualifiers for the Pan African school football championship, whereas Scan Aid is yet to be paid by the GFF.
For the records, the GFF wishes to state, in no uncertain terms, that the Federation, nor any of the winners at the zonal stage are yet to receive a dime of the prize monies. “
The release added: “According to the sponsors of the championship and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the prize monies will be used to fund football development projects in the respective schools. Up to this minute, the nature and details of the implementation of the said projects are yet to be released by CAF.”
