The Office of the Director of Planning of the Basse Area Council, in partnership with the National Environment Agency (NEA) in the Upper River Region, have warned several compound owners and shopkeepers about illegal waste leakage and dumping within Basse.
The Director of Planning, Yaya TB Ceesay and the Regional Field Officer of the NEA, Muhammed Njie, embarked on a field visit to some of the strategic places within Basse to inspect the effect of some of these prohibited conducts.
To this effect, the two offices issued a legal warning to the suspected individuals against the illegal dumping and waste leakage in strategic places such as the central Basse market area and the water streamline along Basse Kaba Kama.
“The Council and NEA will continue their routine inspection and monitoring of these places. If anyone is found wanting, legal action will be taken against you,” Mr Ceesay echoed.
