The Women Journalists Association of The Gambia – WoJAG, supports
in its’ strongest terms the candidacy of Ms. Isatou Keita, a female candidate, for the position of
President in the upcoming Gambia Press Union Congress.
Isatou is the current Vice President of the Gambia Press Union and Journalism Trainer and a Senior
Producer and Presenter at the Gambia Radio and Television Services – GRTS. She graduated with a
bachelor’s degree in journalism and digital Media and Masters in International Relations at the
University of The Gambia.
In her role as a Journalist and Journalism trainer, Isatou has impacted significantly on the lives of
many Gambians through career building, impactful and human interest-based journalism. As Vice
President of the Gambia Press Union, she has contributed immensely to the restructuring of the
Women Journalist Association of the Gambia and has led a successfully annually GPU excellence in
Journalism Awards to recognize the work of Journalists amongst lots of achievements.
