Acting on credible intelligence, officers from Bakau Police Station apprehended Alpha Jallow, a Nigerian national. A subsequent search of his residence uncovered approximately $23,100 in suspected fake US dollars and 57.5 million CFA in counterfeit notes. These illegal funds have been secured for forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations.
Authorities have formally charged the suspect, who remains in police custody as investigations continue to unravel the origins and potential network behind the counterfeit operation.
