The National People’s Party has issued a statement disputing descriptions of the crocodile incident at Sandu Kuraw Arafang, after reports that President Adama Barrow was presented with the animal by members of the Gambia Hunters Association.
According to the statement, the hunters arrived intending to offer the crocodile as a symbolic cultural gift but were asked to leave before the President arrived due to security and protocol procedures, with the party saying that “the decision was made solely to maintain order and ensure the safety and dignity of the event.”
