On the eve of Netflix’s release of Sean Combs: The Reckoning — a highly anticipated docuseries produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, a longtime rival of Sean “Diddy” Combs — the embattled music mogul is fighting back.
Combs’ legal team has issued a cease-and-desist letter to Netflix, demanding the streaming giant halt the project’s release. In a statement to CNN, a spokesperson for Combs accused Netflix of including “stolen footage that was never authorised for release,” describing the series as a “shameful hit piece.”
The disputed footage appears in Netflix’s official trailer, which dropped Monday morning.
Netflix, when asked for comment, pointed to a statement from the docuseries’ director, Alexandra Stapleton, who insisted the filmmaking team obtained all materials legally.
