The Gambia Online Media Association (GOMA) held a successful election for its Interim Executive Committee at the Gambia Press Union (GPU), under the supervision of the GPU and the Media Council of The Gambia (MCG).
This marks a crucial milestone in the development of online media practitioners in The Gambia, as the newly elected committee will work towards strengthening the structure, representation, and coordination of the online media community.
The following individuals were elected to serve on the Interim Committee:
– President: Yusef Taylor (Askanwi Media)
– Vice President: Sallah Njie (Voice Out Digital)
– Secretary General: Isatu Mbakeh (Lamdor)
– Assistant Secretary General: Isatou Sowe (Voice Out Digital)
– Treasurer: Suaibou Sanneh (SS Media)
– Organizing Secretary: Modou Njie (Inside Gambia)
– Public Relations Officer: Binta S. Jawo (Besel Media)
– Ordinary Member: Haddy Jatta (Direct Africa)
– Ordinary Member: Mariam Camara (Jungle Entertainment Universe)
The Interim Committee will serve for a maximum period of one year and will have the responsibility of establishing a strong, ethical, and professional online media association in The Gambia.
GOMA remains firmly dedicated to promoting ethics, freedom, and responsibility in the online space, as well as fostering collaboration among digital media practitioners and stakeholders.
