In a thrilling finale, with emotional fluctuations, penalty awards, and own goals, H. Fankanta and Black Lions failed to produce a winner in the Faby Tournament on Saturday. Despite being the better side in the first half, the Black Lions were held to a 2-2 draw by H. Fankanta Academy of Farato, who miraculously reached the final. Black Lions took the lead with a penalty from Muhammed Touray in the 22nd minute. However, H. Fankanta got themselves on level terms in the second half with a textbook header from Ebrima Sanneh. They then took the lead in the 68th minute when Sainey Njie scored an own goal trying to pass the ball back to his goalkeeper, wrong-footing him. The fans were almost ready for the crowning moment, but in the 90+1 minute, Muhammed Touray bundled the ball home in a crowded penalty area to equalize 2-2. Although Touray received a booking for taking off his shirt, he was ecstatic and showed the referee his number. In a game that had everything, both teams are still far from winning the tournament. They will play again on March 10th.
