Today, His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow, Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, signed the condolence book at the Nigerian High Commission in Banjul, following the passing of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.

Accompanied by Honourable Sering Modou Njie, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Vice President signed on behalf of H.E. President Adama Barrow, the Government, and the people of The Gambiaโ€”expressing profound sympathy and solidarity with the Government and people of Nigeria during this moment of national grief.

VP Jallow hailed the late President Buhari as a true African statesmanโ€”respected, principled, and devoted to public service, peace, and the unity of the continent. He recalled Buhariโ€™s pivotal role during The Gambiaโ€™s 2016 political transition, highlighting his leadership as instrumental in ensuring a peaceful outcome.

โ€œWe remain indebted to his legacy. He was a man of integrity, and Africa has lost one of its great sons.โ€ โ€“ VP Jallow

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
