The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) has intercepted 35 would-be migrants in separate operations in Amdalai and Essau Tenda on April 22, 2026.
In Amdalai, 21 Guineans, including 14 females and 11 minors, were intercepted during an intelligence-led operation.
Later in Essau Tenda, 14 more migrants were picked up, including nationals from Mali, The Gambia, and Senegal.
Authorities say the operations reflect ongoing efforts to curb irregular migration and promote safe, orderly movement.
