The Gambia Wrestling Team put up heroic performances in the just concluded ECOWAS African Wrestling Championship held in Niamey, Niger.
Gambia took 4th place out of 13 countries from the sub-region, losing in the semifinal to eventual winner Niger. Our gallant wrestlers also won a trophy and gold in 100kg and silver in 66kg.
Massive congratulations to Coach Pap Senghore and his team for putting up a respectable performance throughout the tournament. Congratulations also to the rest of the delegation Desk Officer for Wrestling Alagie Abdoulie Bojang, our 2nd VP Ousman Njai, and Team Physio Jawara Ngum.
