Higher Education Ministry installed modern facilities at UTG Faraba Campus.

Contrary to rumors and fake information trending on social media, the Faraba-Banta University of the Gambia Campus lot 1 is fully installed with standard, modern learning facilities in conformity with International standards.

On. Friday, the honorable minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Professor Pierre Gomez led a conducted tour of various schools with journalists followed by a press conference.

Responding to questions from journalists during the press conference, Professor Gomez emphasized that taxpayers’ money can’t continue to be wasted on paying rent when the permanent structure for the UTG is functional.
“10 water dispensers are installed for each school; a fully air-conditioned auditorium for school, others have more than one. Students will pay D10 for the bus. Kanifing to Faraba Campus; to and fro is D20, compared to the D60 they were paying.”

Apart from the affordable fares, Minister Gomez spoke at length on. the.challenges UTG students encounter at College premises while highlighting the comfortable learning environment at their disposal in Faraba.

This medium which was privileged to be part of the journalists can authoritatively confirm that water and electricity are available as well as other essentials notably;
Well-built structures Classrooms, Library Office equipment, Smartboards & projectors just to mention a few.

Mr Gomez has encouraged the relocation to the Faraba Campus stressing that millions being wasted on renting could have been
use to develop the Faraba Campus.

Minister Gomez expressed appreciation to the contractor (SPML), consultant (PACE), PCU, all sub-contractors, MoHERST staff, UTG, the media, and all other stakeholders who contributed towards the completion of Lot-1.
