The Gambia Police Force celebrated the return of nine officers from advanced training in Turkey on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
These officers were honored at the Gambia Police Headquarters in Banjul for completing a Master’s degree program in security strategies and management, alongside policy chieftaincy training at the Turkish Police Training Academy.
Representing the police leadership at the event included Commissioner of Police Administration Mustapha Ndong, Commissioner for International Affairs Famara Jobarteh, and Deputy Commissioner and Head of Human Resources, Omar D. Bah.
The officers—ASP Bakary Tamba, ASP Pa Bisenty Mendy, ASP Ousman Darboe, ASP Suwaibou Camara, C/ASP Vincent Lazar Jatta, C/ASP Augustus Gomez, C/ASP Foday Bojang, C/ASP Farou B. Gibba, and C/ASP Sainabou Bah—were lauded for their commitment and perseverance throughout their intensive studies.
ASP Bakary Tamba, speaking on behalf of the group, extended their collective appreciation to the GPF leadership for the educational opportunity and affirmed their readiness to contribute significantly to national security enhancements.
This event not only marks a significant achievement for the returning officers but also signifies the Gambia Police Force’s ongoing commitment to professional development and international collaboration in enhancing the capabilities of police officers.
