The President of the Gambia Press Union, Isatou Keita, is currently in Abuja, Nigeria, joining journalist union leaders from across West Africa for a two-day validation and capacity-building workshop on labour migration.
Convened by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with the Federation of African Journalists, the regional workshop aims to adapt the ILO’s media toolkit on forced labour and fair recruitment for the ECOWAS region.
Participants from 12 ECOWAS countries are engaging in discussions to strengthen media reporting on labour migration, promote ethical journalism, and support the protection of migrant workers’ rights in the region.
