The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Security has announced that fertiliser for the 2025 farming season will be sold at GMD 1,100 per 50kg bag.
A total of 28,892 metric tons, equivalent to 577,800 bags, will be distributed nationwide. The price reflects a government subsidy of GMD 1,875 per bag.
The Ministry also stated that transporting fertiliser across national borders is prohibited, warning that violations will attract legal penalties.
In addition, agents with outstanding debts from previous fertiliser sales with the National Food Security Processing and Marketing Corporation (formerly GGC) will not be allowed to participate in this yearโs distribution unless full payment is made.
New agents will be recruited to facilitate the sale and distribution process.
