Hon. Madi M.K. Ceesay, National Assembly Member for Serrekunda West
Hon. Madi M.K. Ceesay, National Assembly Member for Serrekunda West, has been elected to the Continental Board of the African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC) during its 9th Biennial General Meeting held from 7–9 November 2025 in Accra, Ghana.
The 2025 Biennial General Meeting (BGM) focused on revitalising the Network’s strategies, strengthening collaboration among parliamentarians, and addressing challenges faced by APNAC members in combating corruption at both national and regional levels.

Hon. Ceesay, who is also Chairperson of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights and Constitutional Matters, is recognised for his leadership and commitment to promoting transparency and accountability. He will serve a two-year term on the restructured Board, following key constitutional reforms that expanded APNAC’s leadership framework, including the increase of Vice Presidents from one to four.
The meeting also witnessed a smooth transition of leadership to a new Board chaired by the Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin who pledged to advance APNAC’s repositioning agenda across the continent.
Hon. Ceesay will serve alongside representatives from Cameroon, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Zimbabwe, and Ghana. His election places The Gambia at the forefront of continental anti-corruption initiatives and reaffirms the country’s commitment to good governance and parliamentary integrity.
