The 3rd Ordinary Session of Council of Ministers and 6th Ordinary Session of the Council of Administration of West Africa Postal Conference (WAPCO) is underway at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre.
Hosted by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, the high-profile regional forum has brought together ministers, regulators, postal operators and development partners from across West Africa.
The forum aims at transforming postal services for digital growth and regional integration.
It features high-level ministerial sessions, technical and policy panels, and networking.
ECOWAS and WAPCO are collaborating to advance regional postal policy, reinforcing socio-economic integration across West Africa.
WAPCO has played a pivotal role in transforming regional postal policy into practical results, ensuring that the post remains a cornerstone of socio-economic integration in West Africa, Experts believe a revitalized postal system strengthens the free movement of goods and services, supports the growth of E commerce and facilitates Finance .
The Gambia’s hosting of the prestigious confab is deemed to enhance its international visibility and diplomatic standing, support national reforms in the postal, logistics and digital sectors; as well as strengthen regional cooperation and partnership.
