The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) has released a statement denying any involvement of one of their officers in a counterfeit currency case in Senegal. According to the military, there is no colonel by the reported surname serving in their ranks. They also clarified that while there are three lieutenant colonels with similar surnames, all of them are currently in The Gambia performing their official duties.
The GAF further revealed that initial investigations suggest the possibility of impersonation in this case. They have already started verifying the information and are collaborating with Senegalese authorities to uncover the complete truth.
