President Adama Barrow will inaugurate additional road projects in the Upper River Region (URR) and Lower River Region (LRR) as part of his government’s commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind in the country’s YIRIWA national development agenda.
On Friday, October 23, 2026, President Barrow is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed road linking Basse Manneh Kunda, Demba Kunda and Numuyel in the Upper River Region. The inauguration will be followed by a meeting with residents at the Demba Kunda football field.
Similarly, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the President will inaugurate the completed Kiang Kabada road project in the Lower River Region before meeting with community members at Sibito.
Ahead of the scheduled inaugurations, President Barrow attended a mega rally organised by the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) in Allunhari on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
The road inaugurations were initially scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 22, but were postponed following the sudden death of the Chief of Basse (Fulladu East), Muhammadou Krubally.
Chief Krubally ascended to the throne in 2022, succeeding his ageing father, Hammeh Minteh Krubally. Since assuming the traditional leadership role, he has served his people with dedication, humility and commitment.
