His Excellency Mohammed BS Jallow, Vice President of The Gambia, delivered a powerful statement as the nation joined the world in celebrating 80 years of the United Nations under the theme โ€œBuilding Our Future Together.โ€

Held on Wednesday, 12 November at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in Bijilo, VP Jallow highlighted the UNโ€™s decades-long support to The Gambiaโ€”from strengthening good governance, healthcare, education, agriculture, and food security to empowering women, youth, and rural communities. He applauded the collective work of UN agencies for delivering real, life-changing impact for Gambians.

He also called for global solidarity, youth empowerment, reform of international financial systems, and renewed multilateralism to ensure no country is left behind.

Reaffirming The Gambiaโ€™s strong commitment to the UN and the Sustainable Development Goals, VP Jallow emphasized that โ€œBuilding our future together is not just a themeโ€”it is a shared responsibility.โ€

A stronger Gambia. A stronger UN. A shared future for all.
