President Barrow Inspects UTG Development Project Progress Amid Concerns Over Delays
President Adama Barrow is currently visiting the University of The Gambia’s Faraba Banta campus to conduct an official inspection of Lot 2 of the Fixed Package of the UTG Development Project. His visit aims to assess the ongoing construction work and evaluate progress on the project site.
This inspection is part of President Barrow’s routine site visits, where he gathers firsthand information about the state of development, identifies challenges, and seeks potential solutions to ensure the timely completion of critical infrastructure projects.
The president’s visit began with a tour of the Chancery Building, followed by a stop at the School of Agriculture and Environmental Science. His final stop on the campus took him to the Faculty of Law, where he expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of construction. President Barrow noted that the progress observed did not meet his expectations and voiced concern over the slow development at the site. In response, he is holding a closed-door meeting with the contractors and the Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology to address these issues.
