
The AFIS Project, in partnership with the Gambia Police Force, has launched a five-day Crime Scene Management Training for officers of the GPF and the Drug Law Enforcement Agency – The Gambia (DLEAG).
Held from 7–11 July 2025 at the GPFCCU Conference Hall in Kanifing, the training aims to build national capacity in evidence preservation, scene processing, and investigative support.
Facilitated by Superintendent Francis Jatta, ASP Hassan Baldeh, and Chief Inspector Bunanbas Manka, the program is supported by CIVIPOL and INTERPOL, represented by Mr. Emmanuel Prat.
Opening the session, ACP Ebrima Kanyi reaffirmed the GPF’s commitment to strengthening forensic standards, noting the training as a key step toward professionalizing crime scene management in line with international best practices.
