The Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency the Vice President (HETVP) Muhammed B.S. Jallow, on Friday visited the KG5 Football Grounds in Banjul to ascertain the level of progress on the ongoing development works at the facility.
Upon arrival, the Vice President was received by the Executive Coordinator of Banjul, Hon. Ebrima Jawo, along with other key stakeholders. Hon. Jawo expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a valuable opportunity for the Vice President to obtain first-hand information from those directly assigned to the project as well as the intended beneficiaries.
Officials involved in the project, including Mr. Ebou Ndure of Dingareh and Mr. Sheikh Joof, briefed the Vice President on the status of the works. They informed him that the first phase of the development has been successfully completed, while the commencement of the second phase is pending the release of additional funds.
In response, HETVP Muhammed B.S. Jallow assured the team of his commitment to follow up on the matter and pledged to engage the relevant authorities to facilitate the release of the required funds.
The Vice President was also warmly received by members of the sporting fraternity in Banjul, including representatives and members of the Banjul Sports Committee, who expressed optimism that the completion of the project will significantly enhance sports development in the city.
