
Paa Sait Ceesay, CEO of the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), is currently in Ghana as part of a Gambian delegation led by the Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources. The team is on a study tour to explore innovative waste management solutions, with key visits to J.A. Plant Pool and the Jospong Group of Companies, two leading firms revolutionizing waste management in Ghana.
The initiative is backed by OmniBSIC Bank, which is financing efforts to enhance sustainable waste solutions.
J.A. Plant Pool specializes in heavy duty equipment and logistics, providing essential machinery for waste collection and infrastructure projects. The Jospong Group, one of Ghana’s most diversified holding companies, is renowned for its expertise in waste management, sanitation, and environmental services, operating through its subsidiary, Zoomlion Ghana Limited. Their work has significantly improved waste disposal systems, making them a model for sustainable urban cleanliness.
This study tour aligns with KMC’s vision for improved waste management, leveraging best practices to enhance sanitation services in The Gambia.
