Gambia Police Force receives forensic equipment from Interpol.

The Gambia Police Force received a valuable donation of forensic equipment from Interpol for the AFIS project on October 5, 2023.

In a handing-over ceremony held at the Police headquarters in Banjul, Commissioner Buba Sarr of the Crime Management Division emphasized the importance of enhancing crime management. Herve Raffourt, the senior project manager of AFIS, highlighted the program’s long-term impact on criminal investigations. On his part, EU Ambassador H.E. Pampaloni noted how these items align with The Gambia’s security sector reform goals.

ECOWAS Resident Representative H.E. Miatta Lily French congratulated The Gambia for being at the forefront of the implementation of the WAPIS Programme and for taking giant strides to ensure regional security.

Assistant Inspector General of Police Ebrima Bah, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, expressed gratitude for the donation and assured effective use of the equipment.
